Building a Sustainability Center in Uganda

Would you consider partnering with us by donating to our building fund? We are raising money to build a Sustainability Center on the newly purchased two acres of land that will be used for educating local people on how to use clean energy for manufacturing and storing biodigesters. We are committed to walking alongside families and schools provide access to cleaner, healthier, and environmentally sound solutions that improve communities and benefit the environment by building biodigesters in Uganda.

Understanding the Floor Plan

This building will be the center of all our opperations. It has three separate functions that stand out on this floor plan: biodigester manufacturing and storage, community education programs, and food processing. Biodigesters will be built and stored in the right half of this building until they are loaded up and delivered to the families who have purchased them. The classroom area will be used for a class schedule ranging from understanding biodigesters to agricultural techniques to increase the profit margins of rural farmers. Finally, in the food processing area, we will use our biodigesters to process our crops into products for sale. This small scale operation will help this center to offset their costs as we continue to aim for financial sustainability.

Iron Roofing Sheets
These sturdy iron sheets are the most common roofing material in Uganda and last forever. Every building needs a roof!

These are the glue that will hold the whole building together, we need tons of these!

These iron bars reenforce the cement and provide the support and strength to the walls.

Biogas Stove
This biogas stove will run off of the biodigesters we will have right outside our building. It will help us make plantain chips for market and show the power of the technology!

Big Old Pile of Sand
We need two truck loads of sand that will be mixed into our cement. This will help us build the floor and plaster the walls.

Used Water Tank
This 10,000 liter water tank will help us collect and store our rainwater. It will be mounted on a tower so that our building will have running water. No city water out on the farm!

Solar Panel System
Out on the farm there is no access to electricity. To run a computer for accounting and several lights we will need a small solar panel system. This will purchase us our solar panel, a battery, lighting, and the wires needed to set it up!

Metal Poles
These metal poles will hold up the roof for both of our patios. The first patio will provide extra space for building the biodigesters and the other will provide a sitting area for our educational programs.
